Aaron Hodgson is the founder of DHK9 and a NEMO-accredited dog trainer with a genuine passion for understanding dogs and helping owners build calm, confident relationships with them. His journey into dog training comes from a lifelong respect for canine behaviour, communication, and the powerful bond between dog and handler.

From an early age, Aaron was drawn to how dogs think, learn, and respond to the world around them. Over time, this curiosity developed into a deep understanding of canine behaviour, motivation, and psychology — allowing him to work with dogs of all breeds, temperaments, and backgrounds.

As a NEMO-accredited trainer, Aaron follows a structured, ethical, and proven training system built around clarity, consistency, and trust. His approach focuses on teaching dogs how to become neutral in every environment. Every dog is treated as an individual, with training tailored to their personality, lifestyle, and the goals of their owner.

Based in Durham, Aaron works with dog owners across the North East, including Newcastle, Gateshead, Sunderland, Chester-le-Street, Darlington, and surrounding areas. He understands that no two dogs — or households — are the same, which is why his training takes place in real-world environments where lasting results truly matter.

What sets Aaron apart is his ability to explain training clearly and simply, giving owners the confidence to continue to progress long after sessions end. His goal isn’t just to train dogs — it’s to empower owners with the knowledge and skills needed to enjoy a balanced, stress-free life with their dog.
